Ode to Maui
By: Sydney Geisinger
Island in the sun
Island built for fun.
Wheezer was right
Maui is such a delight.
To forests of vines and trees
filled with humming bees.
To beaches with grainy sand
That crumbles in your hand.
Maui is full of loving locals too,
Welcoming people like me or you.
Camille, Mike, Matthew, and Joe
Were all so much fun…Oh!,
How I want to go back!
Exotic animals flourish there
Even wild pigs, and chickens to spare.
I met an amazing bird named kelly,
She loves anyone who puts food in her belly.
Though it was slightly cloudy,
I LOVED my vacation to Maui.
I enjoyed it with a certain boatmen…
so please Daddy can we go again?

This poem is about my trip to Maui that I took with my dad. I liked doing this project because I was able to share my experience with my class.
I Asked
BY: SYDENY GEISINGER
I asked the daisy why it was white
And it frowned and ripped out it's
Peddles
I asked the rose why it was red
And it blushed and wilted into the
Wind.
I asked the carnation why it bloomed
And it chuckled with a twinkle in it's
Eye
I asked the poppy to pop
And it smiled and burst.
I asked babies breath to breath
And it did and the flower grew
And filled the field
I asked the daffodils why they danced
And they enveloped me in hugs
I asked myself why I loved flowers
And the field spread
The flowers bloomed
The trees grew
And I kept quite
And everything was perfect.

Poetry Recitation: Daffodils
By: William Wordsworth
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:

What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

In this project we had to choose a poem that spoke to us. When searching I found Daffodils by William Wordsworth, this poem is about finding peace in nature. Further research showed that it was written during the industrial revolution. I liked this project because I was able to connect with a part of the past.
