Social Studies Brochure
Review/Comments
In this project I made a brochure about each colony including what it was like there,
how they made their money, laws that thy had, etc.. This helped me learn about the original states. When making this brochure i often wondered what was the head state for leading the rebellion? I find is very sad that the USA had whaling as part of its income, I had no idea. I wonder if anyone thought it was bad back then? Like Green Peace now.

In this project we, me and Bryahna, made a look book that decribed all the events leading up to the revolutionary war. It helped me memorize what happend and why. I htink this was a really cool project because it was fun but it also has really stuck with me. I find it interesting that if someone looked at our designs they would have no idea that it represented something so much more. I wonder if we told them tat it stood something what they would think it represented.

The next project I made was the lace guild project, though I was alone it was a fun friday event that made some cool book marks! I learned all about different ways to make lace. I wonder if anyone before the first documented lace had it? I also found that my great grandpa was a lace maker! To get more of an explanation click 'here'.

The Symphony
When we went to the symphony all the music was based off of Abraham Lincoln needless to say they were beautiful, and patriotic. They even played a kind of fiddling song, it was very interesting. The conductor was the most intriguing to me because of his hand movements. I have only once been to a symphony and that was in like 3rd grade so I didn't have to much attention and wouldn't have noticed his hands. It was a great experience, I'm glad that I was able to go with IDREAM.

In the pictures above you see my children's book. This was a book that explained the declaration of independence in a way that a child would understand. I learned not only about the declaration of independence but also how to convey it to someone, also by breaking it down to its principles I was able to understand it on a deeper level than I would've gotten by just reading it. I find it very interesting that the declaration is still a big part of the USA. When making this book I often thought that the declaration of independence interoperation that I made was like a movie Disney would make. I wonder other people that portrayed it as?

In this project I worked with 3 others to make a news paper that discussed when Jackson was elected president. I learned a lot about both Jackson and his opponent John Q. Adams. I wonder who won the popular vote? I think that it's very cool that over 100000 people showed up at Jacksons Inauguration. My second grade teacher was named Mrs. Adams... no relation.

Colonial Feast
To see my Colonial Feast website click HERE! In this project I made colonial soup! It was very good. I learned what they had back then and how they cooked things. It is super sad that the women would slave in a hot room for the whole day just to make some food! I wonder if my soup really tasted like their old soup.
